Mission

About our Mission

Mission
The mission of the National Association of Commissions for Women (NACW) is to sustain, strengthen and advocate for women’s commissions in their work to promote equality and justice for all women and girls and ensure they are represented and empowered in their communities.

The National Association of Commissions for Women exists to:
  • Sustain its members, by providing best practices and practical tools to help them fulfill their missions through NACW’s expertise in the unique needs and diverse environments of women’s commissions at the state, county and local levels;
  • Strengthen its members, by offering opportunities to develop professional skills and obtain technical support, by building relationships amongst peers, and by forming alliances with national partners; and
  • Advocate for its members, by cultivating a national network of supporters, by promoting public policies that support and inform their work, and by communicating women’s commissions’ value and telling their story on the national level.
