NACW is a non-partisan membership organization composed of regional, state, county and local commissions created to improve the status of women. NACW serves as a national voice for commissions for women and represents over 200 commissions for women in the United States, its territories, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. For over thirty years NACW'S advocacy on a myriad of public issues has been a driving force towards equity and justice for women and their families in the home and in the workplace. Member commissions function independently, but work together towards a common vision.
The NACW takes policy positions on a myriad of issues affecting the daily lives of women in America. NACW adopts resolutions at its annual convention held in July each year. These resolutions form the basis for advocacy and action by NACW and its members.
